Our team are qualified, dedicated and amazing animal lovers. We have many years’ experience in caring for various animals. Dogs, cats, chickens, alpaca, sheep, and not forgetting the little ones too, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, rats and fish.
We are Covid-19 certified for Dog Walking, Dog Home Boarding and Dog Day Care.
We go on seminars and talks on various animal-related topics and the legal side of pet ownership. We attend courses to keep us up to date. Cat and Dog First Aid, Canine Body Language, Resource Guarding, Dog play and Behaviour – these are just a few of what we have attended over the years.

Dog Walking
Last minute business trip? Hospital visit? The unexpected can happen at any time. If it does, you can call on us and be sure that your pet will be as well cared for as if it was one of our own. Perhaps you need help on a more regular basis to walk your dogs when you are out at work. Whatever the weather, we will walk your dog, and if it is wet, we will make sure your dogs are dried before being put back home.
Doggy Day Care
If your dog needs more than one walk, why not let us look after them for the day? If your dog gets a little anxious when left alone, why not leave them with us? They get regular walks and are socialized with our dogs and others they meet on their walks. When in the house we do enrichment activity and treat seek games. On dry days we play in the garden with various toys. We also offer a collect and drop off service.
Cat Visits
Cats don’t like being taken away from their own environment, they would much rather stay at home, even if you are away. We will visit and make sure they are fed and watered. We clean and empty litter trays, administer medication if needed and brush them for you. The service also includes lots of cuddles and strokes! We can move post, open and close curtains and water plants if needed too.
Small Animal Care
We can look after your fish, rabbits, guinea pigs or hamsters while you are away. This can either be at your own home or you can bring them to us.
Dog Home Boarding
We board a small number of dogs with us while their owners are away on holiday. This is not the same as kennels, it’s a home from home service where your dogs stay in our house and are treated just the same as our own pets.

Passionate and caring pet sitters
We are a team of six. Three of our team members are husband and wife teams. This works really well as they have much more flexibility. Each team covers a maximum of a 3-mile radius of their home. We are fully insured, police checked and Dog First Aid trained. The team members who offer Dog Home Boarding and Day Care are licensed by their local council.

The ever patient Mike and Yvette have looked after our extremely enthusiastic dog Buddy on a number of occasions over a couple of years now and we can’t sing their praises highly enough. Professional with genuine care and interest in all aspects of what makes our dog tick. Why and when did Contented Pets start?
Angela started Contented Pets in 2007. She noticed there was a gap in the market when she needed someone to give her dogs a short walk and a toilet break when she was at work. There was no one in the local area so Angela decided to start the service herself after thinking if she needed this service others may need it too!
Do I need to bring or provide anything when leaving the dog?
Your dog’s food, favourite toy, lead and harness and anything else you think will make your dog feel comfortable.
How long does a home visit take on average?
Home visits typically take around 30 mins to 1 hour.
Where will you walk my dog?
We will walk your dog in a safe place away from traffic. If a dog walk is booked, we usually walk from your home or travel securely by car to a peaceful place such as the canal towpath or local cycle track. When dogs are at Day Care or Boarding they will usually be walked from the pet carer’s home.
