Angela started Contented Pets in 2007 when she was unable to find someone to walk her elderly dogs at lunchtime while she was at work. She now has over 80 clients walking dogs and feeding cats from all over the area. Her favorite places to walk dogs are along the canal between Llanover and Gilwern. Angela has dogs to stay with her on their holidays. This popular service gets booked up to 12 months in advance.

I have always loved pets and grew up with a Springer Spaniel called Shandy. I now have two dogs of my own; an elderly chocolate Labrador called Ollie and also Jack, who is a Vendoodle. I had Jack as a puppy in August 2009 and he has been a dream with the young dogs that come to stay as they now have a play mate.
I have a maximum of two dogs staying at my home at a time. Please try to book well in advance of your holiday so you won’t be disappointed. Cats are much happier staying in their own home environment. I feed and water, change the litter, give plenty of cuddles, strokes and brush if required. You also have the added security of me keeping an eye on the house whilst you are away. I move the post from the front door, water plants on request, open and close curtains for you.

My dog walks take me along the Brecon to Monmouth canal, along the Usk River, Castle Meadows, the Deri, the Skirrid, the Blorenge and the old train track at Llanfoist to Clydach.

My vehicle is insured to carry up to 6 dogs at one time.
|
Dogs that come to stay on their holidays can sleep in our comfy Orvis dog beds. With washable covers and thick memory foam pads, we think they are the best dog beds you can buy. All our pet sitters have Orvis Dog Beds in their homes.

I live in Abergavenny with my partner and two rescue dogs Jed and Freya. We also have five chickens. I have over 30 years experience with dogs and have owned rescue dogs for 15 years. I used to be a customer of Angela’s but started working with her in June 2011.
I now do dog walks, cat feeds and doggie holidays/day-care which is great and extremely rewarding! I am also currently studying to become a Dog Trainer (student member of the Kennel Club) as well as an Animal Bereavement Counsellor.

I have been working with Angela at Contented Pets since April 2011. I have always shared my home with dogs and, having quite recently lost my much loved black Labrador Tess after almost 15 years together, the house has seemed very empty.
The solution to this was meeting Angela and providing Dog Holiday Visits and Doggy Day Care. What impressed me straight away about Contented Pets, as well as the very efficient way the company is managed, was that Angela’s first concern is above all for the welfare of the dogs in our care.
We always meet the dogs and their owners before any placements, to make sure that everyone is happy with the arrangements. As I work from home alongside my husband, a freelance translator, it means the dogs in our care always have company and plenty of exercise, both in our large garden and on daily walks. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know some lovely dogs and owners and are pleased to say that all our visitors have made themselves very much at home with us!
